1 man dead, acquaintance in custody in St. Paul

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — One man is dead and another is in custody following a struggle at a home near the state Capitol.

Police say officers responded to a disturbance call about 9:30 p.m. Thursday and heard a commotion inside the home. Officers say they repeatedly pounded on the front door, but got no response.

Authorities say an officer could see a violent struggle through a window, so police forced their way inside. The suspect struggled with several officers before he was arrested. The 59-year-old victim died at the scene.

Police have not said how the man died. Officials say the victim and suspect were acquainted.
