1 of 5 people aboard missing plane from Wisconsin
SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. (AP) — One of the five people on board a plane that disappeared in Idaho is from Wisconsin.
Dozens of search and rescue personnel are scouring the mountains of central Idaho for the five, who include Jonathon Norton of Sun Prairie. His fiancee, Amber Smith, her brother Daniel Smith and his wife, Sheree, and her father, Dale Smith are also missing.
Norton and his fiancee are students at Brigham Young University-Idaho. Norton’s uncle, Matt Dayton, tells WISC-TV Jonathon and Amber’s wedding invitation came in the mail this week. They plan to get married Jan. 4.
After spending the Thanksgiving holiday together, the group departed Sunday from Baker City in eastern Oregon in the single-engine plane bound for Butte, Mont. Dale Smith was piloting the plane and reported engine trouble over remote country northeast of Boise.
