2 accused of using fake money to buy beer in Iowa
CORALVILLE, Iowa (AP) — Authorities have arrested two men in Iowa for allegedly using counterfeit money to buy beer.
KGAN-TV in Cedar Rapids reports that 49-year-old Kennard Partee and 46-year-old Kelvin Davis, both of Illinois, were caught with fake $20 and $50 bills.
Police say they confronted the men at a BP gas station in Coraville, after they used one of the $20 bills to pay for beer at a Kum & Go convenience store.
Investigators say the bills all had the same serial number, and appeared to be fakes. Both men face felony forgery charges.
