2 killed in northeast Iowa crash

CHARLES CITY, Iowa (AP) — Two people are dead following a fiery crash west of Charles City in northeastern Iowa.

Charles City radio station KCHA-FM cites a report from the Iowa State Patrol that says 35-year-old Erin Lorraine Heffron, of Rudd, and 71-year-old Malcom Davis, of Wautoma, Wis., died in the early Thursday morning crash.

The patrol says Heffron was driving a car that collided head-on with a semitrailer driven by Davis. The patrol says the crash caused the semi to roll and burst into flames.
