2 suspects detained after Madison shooting report
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison were told to stay indoors after a report of a shot fired.
Madison police were investigating a report of at least gunshot being fired on Langdon Street Wednesday evening. No injuries were reported.
UW-Madison Police say the suspect was last seen heading west on Lakeshore path in the direction of the Lakeshore residence halls. Campus police say it was not an “active shooter” situation but a search for a suspect.
Madison police detained two suspects — an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old, both from Madison — but they have not been arrested.
Police say a witness indicated a suspect may have fled into the downtown Madison Area Technical College. Officers searched the school but found no suspect.
