$2,000 donation comes with a gentle challenge for Food Drive Fridays

$71,000, 15,000 pounds donated in the first week alone

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – People from our area are helping in a big way during the Food Drive Fridays effort in La Crosse.

In totals released Friday morning, $71,000 and 15,000 pounds of food were donated in just the first week.

And Friday, the La Crosse Shamrock Club donated $2,000 to the Friday Food Drives effort in La Crosse.

La Crosse’s Irish Rose and Man said they want to see the giving spirit continue.

“There are a lot of clubs and great organizations in La Crosse area so we are actually puting a gentle challenge out there for some of the other clubs to maybe step forward and participate in what Hunger Task Force is trying to do,” said 2020 Irish Rose Tracy Mullaney.

There are three donation locations that will be open each Friday through the end of May.
