2020 ‘Progresstival’ gets people involved in local politics

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Organizations in our area are getting together for an annual event.

“Progresstival” is a gathering of different progressive groups around the region.

On Saturday multiple local and national organizations took part.

There was an activist fair, workshops, and a presentation.

Plus, it was a way for people to prepare for the upcoming elections, and a chance to get more involved in local politics.

“We’re all here to see what everyone is doing, and how we can all work together to celebrate those shared values and to affect real change in our area,” said Ben Wilson, Rural-Urban Co-Op Organizer, Citizen Action of Wisconsin.

This 5th annual get together is focused on topics like climate change, health care, voter protection, and women’s rights.
