33rd annual Arbor Day celebration in La Crosse Friday to include tree planting

LA CROSSE (WKBT) — La Crosse’s 33rd annual Arbor Day celebration will take place at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Myrick Park at 2000 La Crosse St.

The Hill and Valley Garden Club, which is co-sponsoring the free public event with the city’s Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department, will provide a tree to be planted during the celebration.

Tracy Rudi, the city’s parks and forestry coordinator, will speak on Arbor Day and its significance to the community. Mayor Mitch Reynolds will read a proclamation.

City arborists Dan Stefferud, Wyatt Wolfe and Hayden Hess will lead a First Lutheran Elementary School class in the tree planting.
