$50,000 cash bond set for 2 men facing several drug charges

2 men arrested afer fleeing the scene of a drug investigation

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A La Crosse County judge set a $50,000 cash bond on Monday for two men who fled from the scene of a drug investigation late last week.

La Crosse police arrested Dominic M. Boyland, 24, and Ernest Knox, 29, Friday at a La Crosse residence after receiving information of their whereabouts.

Police said Boyland and Knox fled from the scene of a drug investigation and struck a squad car on Thursday night on the city’s north side.

The La Crosse Police Emergency Response Team was executing a search warrant at 432 Rose Street #4 when the suspect’s vehicle arrived. Boyland, Knox and Brittany Hendricks were in the vehicle.

When officers approached the vehicle and ordered it to stop, they drove away. Police said the vehicle hit the side of the Rose Street overhead as it was trying to squeeze between two other vehicles and also caused minor damage after it hit a police car. The suspect’s vehicle was later found abandoned on the north side of La Crosse.

Police found 2.5 grams of crack cocaine during their search warrant.

Hendricks was taken into custody a short time later while walking near Rose and Monitor Streets.

Boyland is facing several charges, including manufacture cocaine base and party to the crime of possession with intent to deliver 1-5 grams cocaine base, as well as other charges.

Knox was wanted on the same charges, as well as felony bail jumping. La Crosse Police Sgt. Randy Rank said, “Ernest Knox was investigated as part of a drug warrant and search at the same residence over a month ago, and this was the result of an investigation through Vernon County Sheriff’s Department.”

Both  men are being  held in the La Crosse County Jail.
