5th Annual Holmen Summer splash kicks off with log roll competition
HOLMEN, Wis. (WKBT) — The 5th Annual Holmen Summer Splash kicked off on Saturday.
The event was designed for rollers who have not yet been to a competition or for those who have been rolling for less than one full year.
“We have awesome opportunities all year long for long rolling– we have a program at the La Crosse Y, as well as several outdoor pool areas in the summer,” said Livi Pappadopoulos, the Holmen splash director. “I encourage people to try log rolling. It’s super fun and kids just fall in love with it right away.”
There were four competition categories: The Junior Division (10 and under), the Senior Division (11-15), Adult Novice (16 and up), and Advanced (Ages 10-15).
The event welcomed over 60 rollers. Every competitor went home with prizes, new skills, and new memories that they won’t forget.
If you are interested in log rolling, classes are held at the Lacrosse YMCA all year long.
