6-year-old dies days after found in Milwaukee pool

MILWAUKEE (AP) — A 6-year-old Milwaukee boy died Monday, days after he was found unresponsive in an inflatable pool at his home.

The Milwaukee County medical examiner’s office says Ricky Thao never regained consciousness after he was found Friday afternoon.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports the boy knew how to swim and had been outside his home with his sisters. At some point, he jumped into the pool. The water was about 3 feet deep.

An autopsy is planned.
