A slice of kindness: How one area organization is advocating for mental health

HOLMEN, Wis. (WKBT) – Kevin’s Legacy Foundation is hosting a fundraiser, Slice of Kindness.

This fundraiser is to raise awareness of mental health and the stigma that comes with it.

The idea is to enjoy some of the woodshed’s wood-fired pizza while talking about mental health.

15% of all pizza sales are donated to Kevin’s Legacy fund so that they are able to educate and advocate for mental health.

“We decided to do this event because we wanted to have something that was new and different in the area especially after covid and having everyone with masks and all of that jazz. And enable people to get out of the house and not have to wear a mask and enjoy a really good activity,” said foundation member Whitney Hegseth.

Part of the proceeds will go to a scholarship that Kevin’s Legacy fund hopes to disperse to people who plan to work in social work or mental health counseling.
