‘A Taste of the Garden’ prepares for a fun night, for a good cause

An upcoming event in La Crosse will help put an end to hunger in our area.

The Hunger Task Force will be holding its 9th annual “A Taste of the Garden” fundraising event this Thursday.

Each year the Task Force provides an evening of music, beer and wine tasting, along with samplings of food from local restaurants that are all inspired by the Kane Street Community Garden.

The funds raised will go towards supporting the Kane Street Community Garden and the Food Recovery Program, making sure families in our area have a healthy meal to eat.

“Besides being able to tell people what the Kane Street Community Garden does for people, it’s so great to actually have them come into the garden, attend an event like this, and be able to take tours and actually see as we’re doing what we’re doing,” says Executive Director of the Hunger Task Force, Shelly Fortner.

“A Taste of the Garden” takes place this Thursday evening from 5 to 8 pm, at the Kane Street Community Garden. (Corner of Kane St. & St. Cloud St.)

Tickets are $25. You can purchase them at the event, or in advance by calling 608-793-1002.
