A Warm Week for September

RIVER FLOOD WARNINGS are in effect until further notice for the Kickapoo River – from Gays Mills downstream through Steuben and Wauzeka… and the Trempealeau River around and downstream from Dodge. Keep an eye on water levels if you live near or have interests along these rivers.

High pressure will build across the area tonight. As a result, look for a mostly clear and quiet night. Keep an eye out for areas of fog late. Lows tonight will range for the upper 50s to lower 60s.

After some morning fog Monday, look for sunshine and highs in the middle 80s.

Looking Ahead… A large ridge of high pressure in the upper atmosphere will build across the Upper Midwest. The result will be a very warm and humid week for September. Expect highs in the mid to upper 80s through Saturday. Temperatures will then return to seasonable levels next Sunday and Monday. We’ll also see a few disturbances track through the region. This will lead to periodic chances of showers and t-storms. The highest rain chances will be centered around Wednesday and Saturday, with slight chances Thursday, Friday, Monday and Tuesday. With unusually warm and humid air over the region, we’ll have to watch for heavy rainfall and isolated severe storms.
