Actor Bill Pullman stops in Onalaska on road trip
ONALASKA, Wis. — Actor Bill Pullman made a short stop in Onalaska Friday morning on his way to see family in southern Minnesota.
Les Dent, assistant manager of the Baymont Inn and Suites in Onalaska, says Pullman stopped to rest with his wife after a long car road trip around 1 a.m. Friday.
“I recognized him almost immediately,” Dent said. “He was really awesome, really approachable and super kind.”
Dent and some of his staff chatted with Pullman Friday morning around 9:30 a.m. before he left on the rest of his road trip.
Pullman is best known for his roles as President Thomas Whitmore in “Independence Day”; Lone Starr in “Space Balls”; and Jack in “While You Were Sleeping.”
Dent said Pullman told him that since the cancellation of the short-lived TV show, “1600 Penn,” he’s been focusing on spending more time with his family.
