Affinity Plus employees of Winona give back on ‘Plus It Forward Day’

WINONA, Minn. (WKBT) — Bank workers across the United States are taking the day off for Indigenous Peoples’ Day, but instead of leisure, employees of Affinity Plus in Winona–and all across Minnesota–are taking their day off to ‘Plus It Forward.’

Their day is jam-packed with volunteer work, like serving a pancake breakfast, doing yardwork for refugee families, hosting a clothing drive, and simply doing random acts of kindness.

“We could certainly take the day off and hang at home, but it’s important to who we are as an organization to spread kindness in our communities,” said Affinity Plus Branch Manager Jamie Baumann. “Our intention is we want people to feel our love and our appreciation and the in turn, show that to other people.”

Branches of Affinity Plus have been “plus-ing it forward” for ten years.

Last year, 2,300 people dedicated their day to spreading kindness.
