After several days of sun and fun volunteers tear down Riverfest

Riverfest events ended Saturday night with a pair of concerts and a smaller version of the 4 th of July fireworks show.

About 60 volunteers worked to clean up after the fest on Sunday. Another group will come in on Monday to put the finishing touches on making the park as clean as when Riverfest began.

Derek Martin, Riverfest’s media director, said they sold about 20,000 buttons to this year’s fest.

“It was a fantastic year. We saw some record crowds on Morgan Wallen Night when we had our nation act. Every day the weather [was] phenomenal. We couldn’t have asked, honestly, for a better Riverfest this year,” said Martin.

Martin said after a short break organizers will get together every week for about a month to review what went well and what can be improved for next year.
