Alderman to stand trial for attack charges

RACINE, Wis. (AP) — A Racine alderman will face trial on accusations he attacked a pregnant employee.

Keith Fair made a brief appearance in Racine County Circuit Court Thursday and was bound over for trial after waiving his preliminary hearing. Fair has pleaded not guilty to charges that he strangled and battered a woman who worked a bar he owns. A criminal complaint says the 59-year-old Fair was driving the woman home recently when Fair grabbed her by the throat and squeezed while punching her.

The Journal Times (http://bit.ly/onSNiQ) says a pre-trial conference is scheduled Nov. 18.
