ALERT DAY: Scattered Thunderstorms Possible this Afternoon -Derek Sibley
Another chance of thunderstorms is possible this afternoon for parts of the Coulee Region.
Main Forcing for Storms Today
A stationary frontal boundary draped across the region will be the main focal point for storm imitation today. This, combined with upper-level support will help develop strong to severe thunderstorms today.
Today’s Planner: Storms Possible Later Today. High Temperature 77F. Winds N 5-10 MPH.
Skies will start off as partly to mostly cloudy this morning and early noon. Scattered thunderstorms will then develop later this afternoon before diminishing by early this evening.
Thunderstorm Locations and Severity
Most of the thunderstorms that develop are expected to be focused in the central and eastern zones this afternoon. Some of the storms could turn strong to severe with large hail and damaging winds. Although, an isolated tornado cannot be completely ruled out.
Next 8 Days
Another chance of thunderstorms is possible on Wednesday, before a much drier and hotter day on Thursday. Another chance of scattered thunderstorms is possible for the end of the week. Much nicer conditions with more sun and cooler temperatures are in the forecast for next week.
