Allan “Dean” Strothman

Allan “Dean” Strothman, age 69, of Viola, passed away on January 4th, 2020 at Vernon Memorial Healthcare in Viroqua surrounded by his family. He was born on November 2nd, 1950 to William & Joan (Waeffler) Strothman in Monroe WI. He met his wife of 39 years, Bonnie Noth, and they were married on May 10th, 1980. He was a jack of all trades, and a master of none. He had an avid love for stock car racing, he was a driver himself and took some championships at Rockford Speedway in the 80’s. He was a salesman for Taylor Auto Sales in Beloit. Later he and his wife moved to Viola. He worked at Matthes Sale Barn, helped many farmers put up crops, and many other odd jobs he was called to do. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and making maple syrup with LaVon Felton. Scrapping metal was also a hobby he enjoyed. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially the grandkids. He was always up for some card playing. Dean’s wish was to be an organ & tissue donor and was proud to make a donation that will change over 25 lives. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by daughter Johanna (Peter) Polesky of Viola; son James Dean (Missea) Strothman of La Farge; 5 grandchildren Destiny, Dusty, Metayah, Majesta, and Mohnee; a brother Ted (Trudy) Strothman of Calvert City, Ky; a sister Rita Jo (James) Robinson of Orfordville, WI; a sister-in-law Connie Noth of Tomah; 6 brothers-in-law Ed (Brenda) Noth of Tomah, Bob (Sandy) Noth of Tomah, Bill Noth of Tomah, Tom (Sue) Noth of Tomah, Jim Noth of Tomah, Mike (Gaylene) Noth of Warrens; a special niece Jerusha (Brad) Osterle of La Cresent MN, as well as many nieces, nephews and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie, his parents, one sister Marsha, and one brother Darrel, as well as other family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 10th, 2020 at 12 p.m. at the La Farge Free Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Phillips officiating. Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
