Alternate Side Parking starting in La Crosse
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Alternate side parking is returning to the city of La Crosse.
The parking rules go into effect at 12:01 a.m. Thursday and are in place until 5 in the morning.
On odd numbered days, cars need to be parked on the side of the street with odd numbered homes.
On even numbered days, cars need to be on the even side of the street.
Cars that are parked on the wrong side of the street will receive a $15 ticket.
La Crosse Police say there is a good reason for the rule.
“There are multiple reasons, like I said, keep the snow removed in the event that we would happen to get snow, again we’re also still dealing with a lot of leaves and cleaning crews needing to get around,” said La Crosse Police Sergeant Tom Walsh.
Alternate side parking rules are in place in the city of La Crosse until March 15th of next year.
