Annual Lake Neshonoc Ice Days raises money for improvement of the lake
WEST SALEM, Wis. (WKBT) — People in our area are taking advantage of the ice that hasn’t melted yet. Friends of Lake Neshonoc hosted their annual Ice Days in West Salem Saturday.
Although the ice was too slippery for some of the activities, people were still able to enjoy ice fishing.
Nearly 120 people registered for the event and prizes were given out to the first, second, and third-place fish in each category.
Organizers say while the event was modified, they still appreciate all the support they receive.
“We couldn’t set up a tent and do our raffles and normal things, but we’re very pleased with how many people are coming out here and supporting us. We get great community support and as you can see, it’s kind of a nice sunny day, but it’s a little bit slippery out there,” said Jim Leicht, chairman of the Neshonoc Lake District.
All proceeds from the event went to benefit the habitat improvement of the lake.
