Aquinas students volunteer at Kane Street Community Garden

Members of the IMPACT club helped water, weed and tend to the crops

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Aquinas High School students are helping grow their community.

Students from Aquinas’ IMPACT club helped water, weed and tend to the crops Monday at the Kane Street Community Garden.

Senior club member Stephanie Skemp says the garden is a project every club member can get behind.

“Even though we are all from different areas of La Crosse, if we come here and see what we can bring to those who are less fortunate, I think it really binds us together and really builds a sense of community,” Skemp said.

The gardeners give away the organic produce for free on harvest nights.

Garden coordinator Todd Huffman said he always needs volunteers.

Anyone can help in the garden during the day Monday through Saturday.

You’ll find the details you need on the La Crosse Hunger Task Force website.
