Arcadia girls basketball shuts down Prescott, heads to sectional final

Top-seeded Arcadia girls basketball used a strong defensive effort to eliminate Prescott 47-39 and advance to the Division 3 sectional final on Saturday.

Both teams struggled offensively, with the teams going into the locker room at halftime tied at 13.

Arcadia found an offensive rhythm in the second half thanks in part to several three-pointers from junior Mercedes Romo.

Arcadia will face fellow one-seed Saint Croix Falls 3 p.m. Saturday at Baldwin-Woodville.
