Arcadia volleyball meeting high expecations

Clinched Coulee conference title fourth straight year

Arcadia volleyball fans have watched their team succeed all season long.  But that wasn’t necessarily the expectation going into the season.

“We were the underdogs, so we had to come together” said senior Chandler Halverson.

“You’re not going to do very well next year and then don’t screw up the four-peat” said to junior Dana Haines.

And they wouldn’t.  In fact the Raiders did about as good as any team could.  They’re undefeated in the coulee conference and have already clinched the conference championship for the fourth straight year.

“It was really cool to finally know we had it, it was all ours” said Halverson.

“Usually one team gets conference and we wanted to be that team, so we worked hard and we got it” said junior Hanna Hoesley.

Hoesley was a big part of their success this season.  She entered the club of 1,000 career kills. The first to do so in Arcadia program history.

“We can always count on her in tough situations.  Just give the ball to her and she’ll put it down” said Halverson.

“She works really hard in practice so it’s nice to see her get rewarded for it” said Haines.

“You got to pass the ball in order to hit it, you have to set the ball in order to hit is so my teammates, they surround me and they do a good job so it’s pretty exciting every time” said Hoesley.

With the expectations continuing to rise for this Arcadia volleyball team, they think it’s important to take one step at a time.

“We definitely want to stay focused and just keep our mind on just the game, enjoy and live in the moment” said Hoesley.
