Area event raising money for the WAFER

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — An area business is teaming up with a local organization to feed the hungry.

Generous Pottery and the youth group 4-H hosted the fourth annual Empty Bowls event Saturday morning.

Handmade bowls were sold with all of the proceeds going to the Wafer Food Pantry.

In addition to the bowls, eight restaurants and catering services were on hand to fill the bowls with several different kinds of soup.

Organizers say the event is about giving back to those who need it.
