Area farmers market moves indoors for the Winter

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT)- The La Crosse Farmers Market is moving indoors for the winter.

Every Sunday from 9 am to 1 pm, the indoor farmers market will take place at the Radisson Center Ballroom.

At least 23 different vendors have already signed up for this year’s indoor market.

Due to the cold weather, there isn’t near as much produce sold at this time of the year.

Instead, most of the items that are sold are baked goods and homemade craft items.

The market manager says that keeping the market open is good for the local economy.

“I just think it’s so important to the community to have all of these local goods accessible to people and also giving our vendors a platform to sell through because all of these vendors work so hard at what they do. It’s just nice to have everyone come together and share their local goods with the community,” said market manager, Maddie Makinster.

The weekly Sunday markets will run until December 19th.

After that, there will be a break until the outdoor market opens back up in the spring.
