Area pools close for the summer

LA CROSSE, WIS — The end of summer means the closing of area pools around the Coulee Region.

Today was the last day to enjoy outdoor pools in La Crosse. People enjoyed the beautiful day by taking one last dip in the water.

Even though the summer heat has been pretty mild guards say attendance has been good this season. The staff credits new events at area pools for the good turn-out.

“Overall we had a great summer especially with our new events this summer. It made a lot more fun, and a lot of people came, and they enjoyed it. So hopefully we can continue that next summer as well,” said Michaela Schwartz , head guard at Erickson Pool.

Erickson pool will reopen next year about a week before summer starts to prepare for the summer season.
