Art Fair on the Farm offers rare look at a historic Coon Valley farm

Norskedalen hosted the 10 th annual Art Fair on the Farm on Sunday at its Thrunegaarden, about two miles west of Coon Valley.

The farm is not usually open to the public, but during the event people could take in historic talks, walking tours, and a museum to learn more about Norwegian settlers.

People could look at works from a variety of artists, including some the farm’s previous owners.

“Lloyd Thrune, who was the last person to live on this property, was an exceptional wood carver. You can see his works in the museum. His wife Agnes and his sister Ruth were very, very skilled rosemålers, and so their work is here as well,” said Lori Dubczak, the executive director of Norskedalen.

Funds raised from the event will help take care of the Thrunegaarden and Norskedalen’s main property.
