Arts Board looking at changes to downtown library plaza

The La Crosse Arts board is looking at ways to get involved in neighborhood redevelopment and they need the public’s help.

Right now, they are looking for public input into possible changes to the downtown library plaza.

They’re creating a master plan that would include possible changes to the water and sculpture features.

They want to make the plaza an arts destination and an element in neighborhood redevelopment. “The whole city’s focus on neighborhood redevelopment and revitalization is about how you get people on to the streets, how you animate the streets, how you make your city the place that people want to live in, how you re-urbanize, that’s how this city is going to become even more successful,” said Donald Smith from the La Crosse Arts Board.

Library plaza changes are just in the planning stages. The next step will be to gain public support.
