Author Herman Wouk dies at 103
Herman Wouk , the Pulitzer Prize winning author of “The Caine Mutiny” and “The Winds of War,” died Friday at 103.
Wouk , who would have turned 104 on May 27, was working on a book at the time of his death at his Palm Springs home, according to The Associated Press, which cited Wouk’s agent, Amy Rennert .
Among Wouk’s works, which sold to millions, were ” The Caine Mutiny, ” ” The Winds of War ” and its sequel, ” War and Remembrance. ”
The latter two were developed into an Emmy-winning TV miniseries starring Robert Mitchum . ” The Caine Mutiny ” won a Pulitzer Prize and also was adapted for film, earning actor Humphrey Bogart an Academy Award nomination.
