LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Students from the School District of La Crosse are celebrating their love of reading.
UW-La Crosse’s English Department hosted the ‘Battle of the Books’ Thursday.
Teams of fourth and fifth grade as well as middle school students competed to show what they know about selected books.
It’s all about making sure students enjoy what they do.
“Students who love music get to have recitals and concerts. Student who love sports get to have matches and meets and games. But this is an opportunity for those students who really embrace to be able to come and have their day in the sun,” said UW-La Crosse associate professor Jen Mohlenhoff-Baggett.
