Bayer issues voluntary recall for Alka-Seltzer Plus products

Bayer has issued a voluntary recall of its Alka-Seltzer Plus products because ingredients on the front sticker may not match the actual product in the carton, posing a health risk, a news release from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said.

This may lead to users consuming a product they may have an allergy or anaphylactic reaction to. According to the news release, no complaints have been received by the company.

The affected products were only sold in the U.S. at Walmart, CVS, Walgreens and Kroger stores after Feb. 9, 2018.

If the logo on the lower left corner of the package has an orange or green background, the product is included in the recall.

The Alka-Seltzer Plus products recalled are intended to relieve cold and flu symptoms.

People who have purchased the product should stop using it and contact Bayer with questions, to report issues or for instructions on receiving a refund.

Consumer can call Bayer at 1-800-986-0369 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m to 5 p.m. ET.
