Westby upsets Viroqua, Black River Falls moves past Arcadia

Senior Grant Beirne scored 33 points and led six seed G-E-T boys basketball past 11 seed Nekoosa 88-46 on Tuesday night in the WIAA Division 3 tournament.

Sawyer Schmidt added 19 points while Luke Vance chipped in 10 for the Red Hawks.

G-E-T next travels to face three seed Mauston on Friday night.

Also in Division 3, nine seed Westby defeated eight seed Viroqua 59-50, and Black River Falls beat Arcadia 47-37 Tuesday night.

Westby next faces top seed Wisconsin Dells in the next round, while Black River Falls will face Coulee champion and fourth-seeded West Salem Friday night.
