Betty A. Bolstad
Betty A. (Russell) Bolstad, age 67, of Rural Ferryville, passed away peacefully at her home on October 15th, after a long battle with COPD.
She was born on May 2nd, 1952 to William & Charolette (Fry) Russell of Viola. She attended and graduated from Kickapoo High School. After graduation she moved to Aurora, Illinois where she was a laboratory technician. After returning to Wisconsin, she married the love of her life David Bolstad in 1972. In 1974 she gave birth to their daughter, Jenny Bolstad. For many years Betty worked at Northern Engraving, until she retired to take care of her mother, Charolette during her battle with cancer. She also cared for her mother-in-law, Opal Bolstad until her own health started to fail. Betty truly loved taking care of her family. She also loved to go mushroom hunting and was an avid poem writer. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years David Bolstad; daughter Jenny Bolstad; granddaughter Molly Stankus; a brother Dan Russell; 3 sisters: Hattie “Jane” Harbort, Joanne Jacobson, Verlene “Bennie” (Otto) Neubauer; as well as many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Leon, William, Robert, Jerry, Sharon, and Arleene. She was also preceded by other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 19th at 11 a.m. at the Freeman Lutheran Church, rural Ferryville with Pastor Lori Kleppe officiating. Burial will take place in the Walnut Mound Cemetery in Retreat. Family and friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
