Bike for Sight works to help community members in need of eye care
LA CROSSE, WI — The Coulee region is known for its beautiful scenery, but imagine if you weren’t able to enjoy the views because of your vision.
The Ride for Sight is working to make it easier for everyone to see the area landscape.
People rode anywhere from 7 to 62 miles on Saturday on the La Crosse Great River Trail to help support the Rich Coaty Memorial Free Eye Clinic.
The event, sponsored by The La Crosse Lions Club, not only works to make eye treatment available for everyone, but purchase eyeglasses as well.
“We’re very involved in helping the hearing impaired and visually impaired in the community, particularly through free eye clinics and purchasing glasses for people that need them,” said La Crosse Lions Club member Art Marson.
