Blair-Taylor boys basketball bringing the firepower on offense
Wildcats return top 5 scorers from last season
Blair-Taylor boys basketball is picking up right where they left off a season ago when they went 24-2 and reached sectionals. This year the Wildcats are coming in ranked third in all of Division 5.
The offense is clicking from the word go, as the Wildcats dropped 92 points over the weekend in their season opener, which they won by 41 points. Kyle Steien led the team with 24 points and three other teammates scored double digits as well.
Head Coach Randy Storlie says that scoring depth is something they can expect to lean on all season.
“It’s really rare to have this many young people at the top coming back again, to have your top five scorers coming back,” Storlie said. “Three of those top five are only juniors this year, so we were super young last year. We’re looking to make that next step this year. We’ve got physical maturity, and our community’s ready for another trip to go to Madison, I’m not kidding you. So there’s a lot of expectations on these kids.”
The Wildcats are back on the home floor Tuesday night in a nonconference game against Greenwood.
