BloodCenter of WI issues emergency appeal for blood donations
10-year Celebration La Crosse Blood Drive scheduled for Wed., Thurs.
LA CROSSE, WI — The BloodCenter of Wisconsin is issuing an emergency appeal for blood donations due to a critical shortage.
The BloodCenter says its hospitals have an adequate supply at this this time, but it has less than a one-day supply of some critical blood types, such as O negative.
La Crosse area residents are encouraged to donate blood at the La Crosse 10-year Celebration Blood Drive on Wednesday and Thursday at the La Crosse Center’s North Hall, 300 2nd Street South.
10-Year Celebration Blood Drive:
Wednesday, September 18, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Thursday, September 19, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
BloodCenter is the sole provider of blood to local hospitals, like Gundersen Health System and Mayo Clinic Health System.
