BNSF Railway plans $120 million capital program in Wisconsin

Funds would help maintain and expand rail capacity for safe, reliable operations

BNSF Railway is making a $120 million investment in its Wisconsin railroad operations.

The company says the money will go toward maintaining and expanding rail capacity for safe, reliable operations.

It’s part of the railroad’s $6 billion capital improvement project on its rail system.

BNSF projects include building four miles of double tracks through La Crosse and its marsh.

The project has been met with criticism from local groups about the safety and environmental risks it brings to the area.
