Body found in river, southeast of Cedar Rapids
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) — A body has been recovered from the Cedar River, a few miles southeast of Cedar Rapids.
The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says emergency teams were dispatched at 5:25 p.m. Thursday to a spot about a half-mile west of the Cedar River Bridge on Iowa Highway 1.
A canoeist discovered the body, which appeared to have been in the water for some time.
No other information about the body has been released.
The Sheriff’s Office says the investigation is continuing.
