Body found near site of house fire in northeastern Iowa
FAYETTE, Iowa (AP) — Authorities say a man’s body has been found near a house that was destroyed by fire over the weekend.
The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier says the body was found on Saturday. Police identified the man as Ron Lee of Fayette. His age wasn’t given and an autopsy by the state medical examiner’s office is pending.
Officials say the investigation is ongoing, but Lee’s death doesn’t appear to be suspicious.
Emergency crews found the small house engulfed in flames. Investigators found Lee’s body in a secondary search for hot spots.
