Body in burned house was that of 71-year-old Iowan

SWISHER, Iowa (AP) — Officials have released the name of a 71-year-old man whose body was found after a fire at his eastern Iowa home.

He was identified as Daryl Dosch, of Swisher. The town is about 10 miles north of Iowa City.

Johnson County Sheriff Lonny Pulkrabek says Dosch was last seen at 6 p.m. on Sunday. The body was discovered around 11 a.m. on Monday by someone who’d gone to check the house. It appeared a fire had occurred before going out on its own.

The cause of death has not been determined. An autopsy is scheduled.

Pulkrabek says Dosch’s death and the fire are not considered suspicious.
