Body of former Waukon, IA teacher found

The body of an 83-year-old man missing for several days has been found in a wooded area northeast of Waukon.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports a person walking a dog found the body of Donald D. Angel on Thursday morning.

The body was found next to Angel’s car in a hard-to-see wooded area, where the car had rolled through brush and trees.

People had been searching for Angel since Monday. His relatives noted he had shown signs of early onset dementia and expressed concerns that he was missing.

Allamakee County Sheriff Clark Mellick says it appears Angel died of injuries he received when his car crashed into the trees.
