Bond set at $1 million in Plover homicide case

Bond of $1 million has been ordered for a central Wisconsin man held in the death of his neighbor.

A prosecutor in Portage County told a judge Tuesday they believe Jose Luis Flores Aca entered Jamie Koch’s apartment in Plover and sexually assaulted her before killing her and setting fire to her body in Waupaca County. The body of the 36-year-old victim was found by a farmer in a burned vehicle in the Town of Harrison Aug. 7.

Portage County District Attorney Louis Molepske says he plans to file charges of first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree reckless homicide, sexual assault and hiding and mutilating a corpse.

The Stevens Point Journal Media says Flores Aca is due back in court Sept. 3.
