Boy hospitalized after near-drowning in Winona County pool
WINONA, Minn. — A young boy is taken to the hospital after being found at the bottom of a pool at a home in Winona County.
Sheriff Dave Brand says an adult found the 7-year-old boy Wednesday in the pool off of County Road 9, pulled him out of the pool and gave him CPR.
The boy was breathing by the time rescue crews arrived at the home.
The boy was airlifted to Gundersen Lutheran in La Crosse. His condition is not known.
Brand says the boy, who knew how to swim, may have been underwater for three or four minutes in water that was about five feet deep.
The man who found the boy was having a Fourth of July party at his home for family and friends.
