Bridge work nearly completion of construction stage in Crawford County

Final stage of work will take place in 2021

PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Wis. (WKBT) – Drivers in Crawford County are closer to seeing the next stage of work on a bridge over the Mississippi River wrap up.

Work on the U.S. Highway 18 bridge in Prairie du Chien is expected to be completed by the end of September.

It is the second stage of work on the bridge.

Once work wraps for the year, the bridge between Wisconsin and Iowa will be fully open to traffic.

The final stage of work begins in 2021.

The bridge rehabilitation project includes replacement of the concrete overlay on the bridge deck.
