Bristol Palin quitting ‘Teen Mom OG’
Bristol Palin is one and done with “Teen Mom OG.”
The former “Dancing With the Stars” contestant announced on her Instagram account on Monday that she was leaving the show after appearing for one season.
“Teen mom OG wasn’t a fit for me, it took away my peace.. and honestly – my peace has a price tag that no one but God can afford,” Palin wrote in the caption of a photo of herself. “$ doesn’t impress me, I don’t entertain bs, and walking away from this show allows God to rebuild me (and my little fam) in the right direction.”
MTV’s popular “Teen Mom” franchise focuses on young women who are parenting and the ensuing drama in their lives as they try to juggle motherhood with relationships and life struggles.
Palin made headlines back in 2008 when her mother Sarah Palin was the Republican vice presidential running mate of John McCain and the then 17-year-old was pregnant by her then boyfriend, Levi Johnston.
Palin is now 28 and in addition to her son, Tripp, with Johnston, she also shares daughters, Atlee, 19 months, and Sailor, 2, with her ex-husband, Dakota Meyer.
She shared her thoughts about how she says she was portrayed on “Teen Mom OG” in a December Instagram post.
“If I cared what people thought of me, I wouldn’t be here today – let’s be real. I’ve stood strong and held it down for my kids since day one,” Palin wrote in the caption of a photo of her with her children. “No matter how bad @teenmom tries to portray my “life” ….. my babies, my family, my close friends – they know the TRUTH.”
Palin’s season featured tension between her and Meyer, who filed for divorce in 2018, less than two years after they married.
In announcing her departure, Palin had kind words for her fellow cast members.
“I have love for all the girls on the show, and wish them the best of luck in all their future endeavors!!,” she wrote.
