Brown helps Phils rally for 9-7 win over Brewers
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Domonic Brown homered and had a two-run single and the Philadelphia Phillies rallied from a big early deficit to outlast the struggling Milwaukee Brewers 9-7 Tuesday night.
After surrendering five runs in the first inning, the Phillies rallied for five in the second off Brewers starter Wily Peralta (9-6). Ben Revere drove in two with a ground-rule double and Chase Utley had a two-run single as Philadelphia sent 10 men to the plate.
Brown hit a solo homer in the third and a two-run single in the fifth.
Lyle Overbay hit a first-inning grand slam for the first-place Brewers, who have dropped seven of eight. Scooter Gennett added a solo shot in the first and Mark Reynolds hit a two-run, pinch-hit homer for Milwaukee in the sixth.
Kyle Kendrick (4-8) gave up 11 hits and seven earned runs over 5 2-3 innings. Jonathan Papelbon recorded his 21st save.
