Burglar nicknamed ‘obit bandit’ steals from homes of mourners

A Massachusetts man police have been nicknamed the “obit bandit” was arrested after it was found he burgled homes while residents were at wakes and funerals.

According to The Associated Press, Randy Brunelle, 35, had been on police radar following a series of break-ins in Cape Cod. Their suspicions about Brunelle were confirmed Friday when an officer followed his car, and other officers monitored homes of residents of the community as they attended funerals. After police discovered a break-in, they pulled Brunelle over and arrested him, finding jewelry in his pockets.

Brunelle is facing multiple charges including felony breaking and entering.
