Burglars stab dog, steal officer’s guns, uniform

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A St. Paul family is relieved their dog will be OK after he was stabbed by some intruders.

The burglars took guns, jewelry, electronics and corrections uniforms belonging to the homeowner. And when Buster the boxer tried to intervene, he was stabbed several times with a family member’s hunting knife. Buster was the only one home at the time of the burglary last week.

The homeowner, Larry Wagaman, works for the Anoka County Corrections Department. The family is concerned someone could use the corrections uniforms to pose as an officer.

Brandy Wagaman tells KARE-TV Buster’s medical bills have exceeded $3,000, but that he should recover.
